LAHORE: Council of Pakistani Newspaper Editors (CPNE) denied reports that they organized any seminar or dialogue on Sunday.
CPNE General Secretary Amir Mahmoud said in a statement that CPNE had nothing to do with this. with a dialogue on “The rise of violence against women in Politics” hosted by the 4th Pillar of Vigilant Media Watchdog.
“Those who organized a seminar/event in title of CPNE is simple using name of this advice. AT fact they are advertisers and public should currently truth about them,” the statement said. added.
It says 4th Pillar-Vigilant Media Watchdog has no connection with CPNE, and CPNE refutes reports or claims of any events, workshops or dialogue.
The statement informed the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) have been working since foundation in 1957 as merged body of newspaper editors in Pakistan in campaign for protection of freedom of the press and the right of access to information in service of democratic practice and strengthening of democratic institutions in country.
