COVID-19: Police trainee draws red lines on side flow test in offer to stay home from work | UK news

Police trainee tried to simulate having COVID-19 by drawing red lines on side stream testtribunal heard.

In an effort to stay home from work said Ahmed Anwari to his training officer last December that he couldn’t come in because of positive side flow test result.

But his ruse was exposed when he was asked to send a photo. of in result as evidence and became “clear what test was changed manually with drawn red lines,” he was told in a disciplinary order.

The Lancashire police officer was then invited to take the coronavirus. test on Microsoft Teams meeting in who is he again falsely claimed result was positive.

During the confrontation, Mr. Anvari admitted that he had forged test and lied saying he did it to stay in home under the then self-isolation rules.

He left from force a day later.

Chief Constable Chris Rowley is presiding over Monday’s hearing. found that Mr. Anwari violated the standards of professional behavior and in in doing so, he committed a gross misconduct.

He said: “I believe that if Mr. Anwari were still a member of The Lancashire Police would have been fired.

“The police must comply in mind in general times what public expect them to maintain high standards of professional conduct.”
