Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on On Tuesday, special attention was paid to the development of a comprehensive strategy co-chalked out federal and provincial governments for restoration of infrastructure in flood- affected areas.
Speaking on in flood situation in country presiding over the meeting of federal office, prime minister said it’s time for everything not to mess around in politicking, but to serve the masses.
prime minister mentioned that flood-hit areas faced numerous problems related to water diversion, destruction of infrastructure and connection.
He also said public branches, several private organizations, including chambers of trade and industry expressed their desire to contribute to the relief and recovery process.
This was stated by Prime Minister Sharif. government increased financial help for flood-affected people under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) from Rs 28 to Rs 70 billion.
He said government granted Rs 5 billion to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). for dispensation of compensation money in first phasea add.
3 billion rupees also be provided.
He mentioned that the flood happened in gross loss of life, infrastructure, livestock and crops. prime minister said work was in full sway in in flood-affected areas for relief and rehabilitation.
He said a few friendly countries sent humanitarian aid to Pakistan in commemoration of extensive damage caused by recent flash floods. He thanked the cabinet members, ministries, public departments and national media for highlighting issue of floods on international level and making them best attempts to alleviate suffering of flood victims.
