COAS is wasting time with flood-affected people in badin

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Headquarters (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday visited flood-affected areas of Badinsky district in Sindh and spent time with in flood victims in rescue and medical camps, military said in statement.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Commander also met army troops busy in rescue work in Malkani Sharif area of Badin.

Later, General Qamar was brought for aerial reconnaissance of flood-affected areas of Badin and its environs.

ISPR reported that the army commander also interacted with in business community in Karachi. During the interaction, COAS stated that business community always helped people of Pakistan during various natural disasters, including support in recent floods.

Devastating floods covered large areas of country this month, affecting 33 million people and causing damage estimated at $30 billion, and killing more than 1500.

The army commander visited Badin, which is called the “most affected”. area earlier this month too.

Speaking to media, the army commander said that he visited almost all areas of Pakistan affected by the floods, including Otal, Nasirabad, Rajanpur, Swat, Larkana, Shahdadkot and Khairpur.

“In the rescue work in most areas are almost completed, we are sending our helicopters and boats to help people from emergencies due to snake bites, injuries or illnesses,” the army commander said.

He added this dadu cityx population was about 500,000, but currently increased to about 1 million due to flooding in Environment area.

COAS had also appreciated the efforts of district commissioner who worked with the army to build dams to save city.

General Qamar had also spent the Day of Defense and Martyrs in flood-hit areas of Balochistan. He has been in the army flood relief camp in Mouth Muhammad of Jafferabad, where he was informed about the ongoing rescue operations.

Army chief met troops and praised their efforts for in flood victims. He also visited flood help and medical camps and time spent with locals to get on-Earth information about plans soften them problems.

He also visited Sui where he met local elders and were interested in their well-being and problems. The Elders Thanked the Commander-in-Chief for achievement out to them in difficult times.
