Moderators: at Clubhouse, you can now optionally record a conversation and then share it on Clubhouse itself or via other platforms. The company announced on Monday. Even during the initial hype that the audio app triggered at the beginning of the year, many had asked for such a function.

The creators of the app initially opted for a different strategy and even forbade recording audio and publishing it elsewhere . This fit in with the strategy of artificial scarcity via invitation links.

“More than a podcast”

The replays offer more than just recording the conversations. “A clubhouse room is more than a podcast,” emphasizes the company in the press release. The video also shows afterwards who was listening, which links were shared and who was brought onto the stage and when to speak. You can also go to / to the next speaker: fast forward or hear the conversation at increased speed.

Who one Room opened, can choose in advance whether the session should be recorded or not. It should be particularly interesting for the moderators that they can later download the file and share it either as a podcast or as a video on other platforms.

Numerous other platforms, for example Facebook and Twitter, had already copied the Clubhouse concept. The download numbers fell after the hype in January and February. With the recording function, clubhouse meetings are now also available asynchronously and are potentially available to even more people.
