Bottle of champagne autographed by Boris Johnson sold at charity auction event as a souvenir of party

A bottle of champagne autographed by Boris Johnson has been auctioned off. off for charity event “for memory of party”.

Food critic Jay Rayner tweeted an image with a description. of a bottle of what turned out to be a page of auction catalog.

Under the heading “Bottle of champagne signed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson,” the description read: “A bottle of of champagne signed by Boris. very valuable as a souvenir of partygate and exemplary behavior and morality of our dear leader! Gift: Oliver Dowden.

Image Sharing on Twitter on On Friday morning, Mr. Reiner wrote: “Perhaps you thought the Conservatives party took partygate seriously.

“Last night a bottle of champagne signed by @BorisJohnson was donated to a charity. event in Hertfordshire by Local MP and Tory party Chairman @OliverDowden. Read the description.”

Mr Dowden who was a deputy for Hertsmere since 2015 and co-chair of Conservative Party since 2021, confirmed to have donated item – but didn’t know of description.

The MP’s spokeswoman said: “This item was donated in good Faith a few months ago for local charity auction.

“Oliver Dowden did not know in advance of description and it’s clearly not his view”.

Metropolitan Police on Thursday announced room of imposed fines out to government staff for the number of delinquent parties held during the Covid-19 pandemic has doubled to more than 100.

Scotland Yard said last month when there were 50 referrals made to criminal records office for fixed penalty notification (FPN) fines over sides in Downing Street and Whitehall when the country was under strict social- distancing rules.

In an update, the Met said it was Operation Hillman team now recommended 100 fines. force said his investigation into 12 separate events remained ongoing.

Number 10 said Boris Johnson was not released with another fine, after he’s been punished last month over his rule- birthday party in June 2020.
