‘Blood rain’ could turn UK skies red this week thunderstorms strike

A dust cloud from the desert could see “blood rain” falling across the country as it mixes with incoming thunderstormsforecasters said.

Wednesday night brought heavy rain in most regions with a yellow warning for thunderstorms issued by the Met Office.

Rain, lightning and strong winds may continue throughout the week as the remaining cloud and rain clear. past southeast of England.

Wind and rain are expected in the northwest, approaching Northern Ireland. on Thursday evening with some patches of rain in southern England.

Met Office meteorologist Richard Miles said: “There are some concentrations of dust. in the atmosphere over the UK is currently very likely to be washed out out in rain [on Wednesday night]but most likely relative small amounts on whole.”

“There is warning out for thunderstorms for southeastern third of England tonight and a squally cold front will bring wind and occasional heavy rain to Northern Ireland and northwest Scotland this evening.

Red rain – colloquially known as blood rain. in part of country with a high concentration of dust raised from the Sahara desert mixes with water drops.

Proper bloody rain that actually appears to be red in color, relatively rare in United Kingdom with rainfall is often more orange or brown in Colour.
