Blinken: There is no European division over the Britain-Australia security agreement

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stressed, on Thursday, that there is no division within Washington’s partners in Europe over the security agreement with Britain and Australia. She also added, “Our alliance with Washington will maintain the security of the Pacific region.” To exchange advanced military technologies in an attempt to counter Chinese influence.

This partnership will enable Australia, for the first time, to build nuclear-powered submarines. The agreement bore the name “Ocos”, and it will cover the areas of artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and the Internet.

The three countries are concerned about the increasing influence of China and its military presence in the Indo-Pacific region.

Under the new agreement, Australia canceled a contract signed with France in 2016, the core French-designed submarines. Implementation was delayed due to Australia’s desire to manufacture most of the components locally.
