Beyonce urges voters to ‘take apart a racist and unequal system’ in BET Awards speech

Beyonce prompted U.S. voters to “take action to dismantle a racist and unequal system” as she accepted the Humanitarian Award at the virtual BET Awards on Sunday night.

The 38- year-old vocalist was presented by former U.S. First Woman Michelle Obama, who paid homage to her humanitarian efforts in addition to her musical success.

Following homages from Tyler Perry and her mom Tina Knowles-Lawson, Beyonce utilized her speech to motivate fans to vote in the approaching U.S. election in November in the hopes they can jointly attempt and alter thesystem

“I want to dedicate this award to all of my brothers out there, all of my sisters out there inspiring me, marching and fighting for change,” Beyonce stated, referencing the Black Lives Matter demonstrations triggered by the death of George Floyd at the hands of policeman. “Your voices are being heard, and you’re showing to our forefathers that their battles were not in vain.

” Now we have one more thing we need to do to walk in our true power, and that is tovote I’m motivating you to continue to act, continue to modification and take apart a racist and unequalsystem We have to continue to do this together, continue to defend each other and lift each other up due to the fact that there are people counting on us remaining at home throughout regional elections in primaries occurring in mentions throughout the nation. We have to vote like our life depends on it.”

She concluded: “So, please continue to be the modification you desire to see.”

Beyonce wasn’t the only winning member of her family throughout the BETAwards Her tune Brown Skin Woman, which features her child Blue Ivy Carter, took home the BET Her Award – making the eight-year-old the youngest-ever BET Award winner.
