Banners in support of armed forces emerge in Islamabad – Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: banners with inscriptions with slogans in service of armed forces appeared in different areas of Islamabad on Saturday.

While visiting different settlements, dozens of banners we found hanging on poles are installed on road dividers and trees on Expressway and Faisal Avenue from Faizabad to Faisal Masjid, Dhokri Chowk, I-9 and Srinagar Chowk. Not yet established who hung these banners.

When contacting the police and administration first expressed their ignorance about the presence of in banners. However, when journalists approached them and asked about it, the police sent team to areas that found in banners displayed there.

Permission by law required from the directorate of Municipal Administration of Islamabad for display or hanging of banners in Islamabad.

Seems to be, banners were hanged in response to criticism on armed forces at PTI rallies.

Earlier officials of another government departments also staged a demonstration in service of military establishment on Police said on Friday, adding that over 50 officials of Secretariat of the National Assembly also took part in demonstration in service of armed forces and against those who criticized them. The protesters marched from Parliament Gate 1 to the VIP Gate. in afternoon.

BUT group of Officials of the Pak Secretariat also staged a similar demonstration at the Pak Secretariat, they added.

Meanwhile, wall chalking was also found against Pakistani army and its chief in City of Bahria Phase 8 in Rawalpindi, police say. The case was registered with Rawat Police under PPC 124-A, Punjab Prohibition of Matter expression on Walls Act 2015 and maintenance of Punjab of Public Order Ordinance 1960.

According to FIR, police team while on patrol in in area of Bahria Town found provocative remarks on walls against in national security institutions.
