LAHORE:
Anti-Terrorist Court (ATS) on Thursday confirmed temporary bail of three leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), MPA Yassin Sokhal, former MPA Ahsan Raza and Hassan Riaz, in Lahore NAB office collision event.
ATC Judge Abher Gul Khan presided over the trial on applications for release on bail, in which Yassin Sokhal, Ahsan Raza and Hassan Riaz appeared and noted their presence.
petitioners counsel put forward their arguments during the trial. They claimed that their clients were not involved in clashes with police. They claimed that the allegations against their clients were baseless and pleaded with court to confirm their temporary bail. However, the National Accountability Bureau prosecutor objected to the bail applications and asked the court to dismiss them.
deputy prosecutor also objected to bail applications. The court after hearing the arguments of all parties confirmed temporary bail of to all three PML-N leaders and ordered them to submit guarantees for goal.
Chang police registered the case against PML-N leadership and party workers under articles 147, 149, 290, 291, 440, 109, 353 and 186 of Code of Criminal Procedure and Sections of the ATA over collision with police on August 11, 2020 at the NAB office during the turnout of Maryam Nawaz before the investigation team.
