America's ambassador to Russia is director of the CIA

On Thursday, the United States Senate approved the appointment of William Burns, the former US ambassador to Russia, as the new director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

The Senate voted in favor of Burns’ appointment unanimously, and Burns is expected to be sworn in soon.
