Two new budget graphics cards from AMD, the Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400, have already been found online. According to a well-known good, both cards come with 4 GB of GDDR6 memory.

@Komachi_Ensaka was the whistleblower in question. It is still unclear where the well-known initiate saw the names or model numbers come by, but the person in question has often made correct predictions and leaked specifications.
Especially the 4 GB of GDDR6 is striking; for this generation of video cards, that’s by far the lowest volume of video memory. The slightly higher RX 6600 XT, the current AMD entry-level model, is coming after all with 8 GB; competitor Nvidia is also not going any lower than that for its desktop cards.
Presumably, both the RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 run on AMD’s Navi 24 chipset. The same GPU was previously referred to as “Beige Goby” in Linux patches and would presumably have a 64-bit memory bus. The latter in particular suggests that the Infinity Cache of these video cards is also shrinking; the expectation is 16 MB.
Precise specifications are not forthcoming for the time being, but Beige Goby as chipset is presumably limited to 16
compute units. In comparison, AMD’s high-flyers of this generation make do with 80 separate cores.
How AMD wants to market the new cards is still uncertain. The recently released RX 6600 XT was billed as “the 1080p card” for $379; these newer cards would presumably not be able to run brand new games (stable) at such a resolution.
