Al-Eryani: The Houthis are taking revenge against civilians in Marib

The Yemeni Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, condemned today, Sunday, “in the strongest terms” what he described as the reprisals by the armed Houthi group against civilians in the Rahba district of the Marib governorate, describing them as “war crimes and crimes against humanity, and a flagrant violation of international law and the law.”

Al-Eryani accused the Houthis of “indiscriminate bombing of villages, homes and displacement camps with heavy weapons, ballistic missiles and drones, with the aim of inflicting the greatest number of casualties.”

He said via Twitter : “The horrific crimes and violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militia on a daily basis in the Rahba district and the rest of the districts of the Ma’rib governorate, in which innocent civilians living in displacement camps are victimized.. war crimes and crimes against humanity, and a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.”

The Yemeni minister called on the international community, the United Nations, its envoy and the American envoy to condemn “these crimes and violations, put pressure on the Houthi militia to stop its deliberate targeting of civilians, prosecute the leaders and members of the militia involved in these crimes and bring them to the International Criminal Court.” As war criminals.”

A government report said that the indiscriminate bombing by Houthi militias on Rahba district led to the destruction of 28 homes and the forcible displacement of 261 families from the district, located southwest of Marib, northeastern Yemen.

The Executive Unit for the Administration of IDPs Camps in Marib stated, in a statement, that “the district of Rahba was subjected to systematic and deliberate bombing by the Houthis, which led to casualties among the displaced and the host community and the destruction of their properties and homes.”

The statement referred to the forced displacement of a number of families from the district to other areas in the governorate, to escape the bombing with various types of weapons and missiles. A family representing approximately 1,827 displaced people. The bombing also resulted in civilian casualties, including dead and wounded, in addition to the destruction of a number of homes and public and private facilities, according to what was reported by the “Yemen Shabab” website.
