LAHORE: Airbus 320 with 172 passengers on board escaped a crash at Allama Iqbal Airport on Wednesday when the pilot tried to land the plane in wrong runway, but was warned in time, saving precious lives.
According to Geo News sources, the flight from Kyrgyzstan was warned by the control tower when captain was about to land on runway 18-L of Lahore Airport, which is closed for in last two years.
“According to the report, a foreign pilot of flight 4541 took a round in in air and landed on runway 36-L,” the sources said.
The Civil Aviation Authority launched an investigation into the matter.
