ISLAMABAD: Attorney General of Islamabad has filed a petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday against refusal of police request for additional physical custody of PTI Head Dr. Shahbaz Gill in case of incitement to hatred in court.
The AG filed a motion claiming that the defendant had made in FIR had made statements against Pakistan Army and they were based on bad designs.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the investigation in the matter was not complete and the police had yet to return the defendant’s mobile phone and collect data to identify other suspects.
It further states that the statement given by the accused was sent to him. on his whatsapp and so he didn’t want to transfer over your cell phone to the police.
The petition was declared by the judicial judge, not realizing the gravity of crime, denied police request of search for an extension in physical detention of accused Shahbaz Gill and instead sent him to jail on the conclusion of the court, in connection with which the investigation process was stopped, and slander campaign and plot against government office was not excavated.
The lawsuit asks the court issue directives in hand over accused to the police on physical arrest so that the case can be brought to its logical conclusion. The court granted the petition and presiding chairman Amir Farouk will hear the case. on Monday.
