After KP, 11-member Punjab’s interim cabinet sworn in

LAHORE: Provisional 11-member Cabinet of caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi took the oath of their offices are here on Thursday.

Punjab Governor Baligur Rehman swore in temporary cabinet members. Among them were health expert Dr. Javed Akram, former bureaucrat Naseem Sadiq, senior journalist Amir Mir, cricketer Wahab Riaz as sports minister, Bilal Afzal, S. M. Tanvir, Ibrahim Murad, Tamkinat Karim, Dr. Jamal Nasir, Mansour Qadeer and Syed Azfar Ali Nasir.

After interim ministers took oath of officeTemporary Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi congratulated them.

Speaking of the newly formed overseer structure, the chief minister said that the Punjab Interim Administration was completely apolitical and impartial, stating that the working on a one agenda of ensuring free, fair and transparent elections.

Speaking of polls in Punjab, Mr. Naqvi vowed that the elections place in peaceful environment in honestly and freely.

Earlier today members of newly formed cabinet of caretaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Azam Khan took swearing in amid concerns raised by the Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali swore in 12 ministers and three advisers in a ceremony attended by the head minister and other officials.

The cabinet of 15 people includes former I. G. Masoud Shah, Retired Judge Irshad Kaiser, Barrister Saawal Nazir, Bakht Nawaz, Shafiullah Khan, Haji Ghafran, Khushdil Khan, Taj Mohammad Afridi, Shahid Khattak, Mohammad Ali Shah, Adnan Jalil, Abdul Halim Kasouria, Fazal Elahi and Manzoor Khan Afridi.
