LAHORE: over 6,000 police officers personnel provide services round hours before help flood casualties throughout the province.
During my visit to South Punjab here on On Tuesday, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Faisal Shahkar said the police personnel worked in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Mianwali, Laya Bhakkar, Muzaffargarh and other affected areas.
He said Pakistan currently facing the worst flood in history, therefore, assistance and rehabilitation of the displaced people was national and moral responsibility of all citizens.
He said the police ensure in use of all resources for relief and rehabilitation of in flood victims in difficult times and work side on side with other area and government institutions to helpprotect and provide funds for flood affected citizens.
“More than 6,000 Punjabi police officers personnel were mobilized for help in flood injured,” he said. He added that 400 police cars, 288 bikes74 motor boats and other facilities are involved in the rescue work.
Punjab Police set up 388 relief camps in affected areas of provinces,” he said, adding that almost 743 villages in in flood-hit areas have been evacuated. The police rescued 20,600 people. people as well as more more than 6000 heads of cattle.
Police teams deployed at river checkpoints. on vigilance, and all police boats help the injured and provide assistance work.
He visited flood- affected areas in different locations and analyzed the current police rescue and relief activities in order to help in flood victims. The general director of Khan RPO briefed him on the relief operations and the destruction. caused floods in low-lying areas and latest situation.
