6 Pakistani army personnel including 2 majors, martyred in Balochistani chopper crash: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Six Pakistani armies personnel including two majors were martyred in a helicopter crash in Balochistan, the Inter-Agency Public Relations Service (ISPR) reported on Monday.

According to the military media wing, Pakistan Army helicopter crashed while in flight mission near Khost, Harnai, Balochistan, late last night.

tortured soldiers were identified as Pilot Maj. Muhammad Munib Afzal, Pilot Maj. Khurram Shahzad, Naik Jalil, Sobidar Abdul Wahid, Sepoy Muhammad Imran and Sepoy Shoaib, ISPR reported.

Tormented Major Khurram Shahzad, 39, was a resident of Attock and he left behind widow and one daughter while Major Muhammad Muneeb Afzal, aged 30, was a resident of Rawalpindi and had two sons.

Subedar Abdul Wahid, 44 years old, is from the village of Karak Sabir Abad, and he left behind widow and four children, and 27-year-old Sepoy Muhammad Imran was a resident of Mahdumpur Khanewala and survived widow and three children.

Naik Jalil, aged 30, was a resident of Bhutta village in Gujarat. He left behind widow and two children. Sepoy Shoaib, 35, was a resident of Attoka Khatarphatti village. He survived widow and one son.

Last month, six Pakistani army officials, including the commander of the XII Corps, Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali, were martyred in helicopter crash in winder town of Lasbela district in Balochistan.

The ISPR brief statement said the incident was due to bad weather during flood relief operations.

expression deep sorrow over tragic case, Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi extended his condolences to the families of tortured soldiers.

Pay the rich tribute to the martyrs he said: “They laid down their lives in line of duty. The nation is proud of their obedience. Martyrs are heroes of nation.”

The nation salutes the martyred army officers of the Punjab. CM said, adding that they could never forget great the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
