5 features we need in a big update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched last year with great success, exceeding all expectations. It is true that not only its quality as a social simulation game contributed to this, but also the fact that it was quarantined due to the pandemic, since many people had more time to dedicate to it.

However, while Nintendo promised to support New Horizons for two years, there hasn’t been a major update to the game since the summer of 2020, when swimming and diving were introduced. Of course, there have been quite a few updates to the holiday season, and while these events were mostly fun the first time around, players were disappointed to see that they will apparently be the same this year.

For this reason, many players feel that a major update to New Horizons is desperately needed, adding enough content so that many of those who have parked it, will return to take an interest in him and come back. Well, today we will talk about some of the most important updates that should be made in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and they are the following:

  1. A cart of shopping : The Handy Sisters store needs a shopping cart. Currently, for players to buy more than one thing, they have to go in and out of the fitting room each time. When there are multiple colors of items that players want to buy, this process can take a long time. With a shopping cart, players could select multiple items to purchase all at once. A similar mechanic would be fine for purchasing Nook Miles tickets, especially when players want to go hunting for villagers. Having to buy a ticket at a time and go through the selection menu for each purchase takes too long.
  2. Figaro and his cafeteria : In other Animal Crossing games, Figaro’s cafeteria, El Alpiste, was the place where Totakeke performed, and where players could enjoy a cup of coffee. Nintendo should either bring the cafeteria back into the museum, as it used to be, or create a completely separate cafeteria building that players could have on their islands.
  3. Island similar to that of Tortimer from New Leaf : It could be an island to which the Players could go, potentially with friends, to play minigames or explore new stores. The lack of places to go is very noticeable in New Horizons, so such an addition would be more than welcome.
  4. New stores and extensions : For example, for characters like Betunio or Tili. They could also expand the museum with new fish, critters, art, and fossils to collect. On the other hand, Mini Nook should also receive new extensions.
  5. Gameplay updates : Like farming or providing totally new activities with villagers, like hide and seek and other minigames. In general, there needs to be more interactions with the villagers: more requests, in addition to bugs and fish, and visits to the players’ houses.

What do you think of these proposals?
